This small dinosaur, represented by skull and jaw fragments, differed from its North American and Asian cousins in its lack of massive brow horns or a large bony frill. Instead, it closely resembled ceratopsians like Bagaceratops and Magnirostris from Mongolia.

Biogeography and Island-Hopping

The discovery of Ajkaceratops in Europe raised intriguing questions about how this horned dinosaur found its way so far west. During the Late Cretaceous, much of Europe was covered by sea, suggesting that Ajkaceratops lived on an island.
